This civilian version is supposedly rarer then the military version as many were were issued than sold, but fewer military watches survived or remained in good condition. It got that name, The Demolition Watch, from an old Abercrombie & Fitch catalog from late 60's/early 70’s with this configuration. It is described as being used by Navy divers, resistant to water or explosive shock (therefore the nickname we assume), fitted with special humidity indicator, revolving bezel, screw in crown, and special sandblast case. All apparent here.
