MOVEMENT: Calibre 321, hand-wound column wheel chronograph, 17 jewels

BRACELET: Stainless steel Omega bracelet 7077/6 transitional, dated 4.60, buckle engraved with the name of the pilot

CONDITION REPORT: All original dial, bezel, crown and case as well as its original steel bracelet. Watch shows signs of natural aging and the radium lume darkened over time. The hour/minutes hands are original themselves, but the luminous material was refilled at some point in the past.

Notes:
This reference CK2998-3 is the last Speedmaster with the 2998 reference that was fitted with the lollipop chronograph hand and the first have a DO90 bezel. While the CK2998-1 & -2 had the black tachymeter ‘base 1000’ bezel, the CK2998-3 was the first Speedmaster with the new generation bezel where the scale begins at 500. In addition to this reference being very rare, this particular piece is a military issue for the Fuerza Aerea del Peru (Peruvian Air Force) produced July 18, 1961.
The watch comes with an archives extract from the Omega museum confirming the military delivery.
This example was featured at out Ultimate Speedmaster Exhibition in 2015 and consequently in the book that followed in 2016.
