NOTES:
The Valjoux 7730 is the rebranded Venus 188 that came after Venus was absorbed by Valjoux. Venus made chronographs for scores of now forgotten brands, but its biggest customer was Breitling. By the sixties, the chronograph boom had definitely had its day, and Venus closed its doors in 1966. Its assets were absorbed by Valjoux, which discontinued column-wheel production and concentrated on the Venus cam movement instead. A few years later, Valjoux improved on this movement and came out with its 7733 as its own caliber.
