NOTES:
Gallet apparently traces back its history in watchmaking back to 1466 when Humbertus Gallet became a citizen of Geneva as a watchmaker of trade. Gallet was primarily known for its chronographs and developments in the mass markets of this mechanism. It was also known for its collaborative efforts with Excelsior Park.
Introduced in 1941, the Multichron Pilot quickly became Gallet‘s most popular chronograph. With its telemeter and tachymeter indications and a rotating 12-hour ‘time zone’ bezel, it became the ideal watch for traveling or racing. These chronographs were mainly fitted with the Excelsior Park movements and when out of supply the Valjoux 72 movement was the ideal replacement. The Valjoux 72C was the triple date chronograph version of this movement. The Valjoux 72C is fitted within some of the most collectible and highly sought after timepieces in the world today.
